Dari perolehan nominasi Oscar kali ini didominasi film ‘Mank’ garapan David Fincher yang berhasil meraih 10 nominasi. Kemudian disusul oleh ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’, ‘Minari’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Sound of Metal’, dan ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ dengan masing-masing 6 nominasi.
Pengumuman nominasi Oscar sudah dilaksanakan kemarin, Senin 15 Maret 2021 yang dibacakan secara langsung oleh pasutri Nick Jonas dan Priyanka Chopra Jonas dari London.
Dari perolehan nominasi Oscar kali ini didominasi film ‘Mank’ garapan David Fincher yang berhasil meraih 10 nominasi. Kemudian disusul oleh ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’, ‘Minari’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Sound of Metal’, dan ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ dengan masing-masing 6 nominasi.
Beberapa catatan menarik dan juga kejutan tak terduga untuk nominasi Oscar tahun ini gak main-main sih. Yang paling jelas tentunya adalah agenda keberagaman semakin terlihat dengan masuknya film-film yang mengangkat kisah kaum minoritas di kategori Best Picture.
Perlu dicatat, semua film tersebut pun memiliki kualitas yang bagus, bukan hanya sekedar keberagaman saja. Di kategori Sutradara Terbaik, untuk pertama kalinya A.M.P.A.S. menominasikan dua sutradara wanita yaitu Chloe Zhao (Nomadland) dan Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman).
