Film Shape Of Water meraih penghargaan sebagai film terbaik, sedangkan Gary Oldman dan Frances McDormand meriah penghargaan sebagai aktor dan aktris terbaik.
Perhelatan terbesar sineas perfilman di dunia, 90th Academy Awards, baru saja dilangsungkan di Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, Senin pagi kemarin (5/3). Beberapa hasil yang diperoleh beberapa film tidak terlalu mengejutkan, karena prediksi yang beredar selama ini masih sangat akurat. Terlepas dari isu-isu tidak sedap yang melanda sebagian aktor terkait dugaan pelecehan seksual, ajang penyerahan Piala Oscar ini tetap berlangsung meriah.
Dalam ajang penghargaan ini, The Shape of Water memenangkan kategori film terbaik. Sementara Gary Oldman meraih penghargaan sebagai aktor terbaik dalam film Darkest Hour, begitu pula dengan Frances McDormand yang meraih aktris terbaik dalam Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Sementara itu Sam Rockwell juga meraih aktor pendukung terbaik di Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri dan Allison Janney meraih aktris pendukung terbaik dalam I, Tonya.
Untuk skenario film adaptasi, James Ivory memperoleh lewat film Call Me By Your Name, sedangkan untuk skenario asli terbaik diperoleh Jordan Peele lewat Get Out.
